    Sad notes playing

    Sad notes playing

    piano music

    speaks to my soul

    and a tortured heart.

    Squeeze the pain

    so I won’t feel it

    silence my heart

    so I won’t hear it

    hold my tears

    so you won’t see them.

    My beautiful friend

I long to let my feelings soar

    from my heart

    to yours.

    But silence them I must

    so I go on

    and in my heart

    reside pain and sadness

    love and joy

    in constant battle.

    I can shout

             STOP!

    but it’s no use

    my heart is not listening.

    My love for you grows

    and every day

    the pain deepens

                   a dark crater

    with hot, churning lava.

    One day

    the pain will stop

    one day

    the battle will cease

    and one day

    our love will triumph!

Such a beautiful poem! The piano is my favorite instrument.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
