Poem Commentary

When we realize just how precious life truely is, that is when we begin living it.... Mary

Sailing Through Time

One moment we are smiling
Next our hearts are breaking

The days and nights flow
From one to the other

Left wondering, where and how
Did our lives fly by so quickly?

Once just a child ...
Hoping to grow up fast

Now an adult ...
Praying for life to slow down

Here we are…
Sailing through time

Trying to find the magic
In life once again

Like finding love ...
For the very first time

Loving life for what is ...
Living, for new tomorrows

Enjoy each day ...
As though it were your last

Love with all your heart ...
Like you did from the beginning

Truely beautiful and thought provoking write my new friend, bravo! Life as they say is for the young for when we get older we sometimes forget what it is we are living for to begin with. The sands of time can be cruel and pass us by faster than we even realize. I have learned on my own journey that it is not the begining nor the end that makes once life worth living but everything in between, this is the journey. As we sail through time with the waves crashing upon our bow and the storms throwing us from here to there, so often we lose our way, so often we forget to stop and enjoy the clam after the storm, to smell the cool breeze that is left after the rain as gone, to feel the gentle breeze upon our face as the storm has retreated, these moments are the ones that light our hearts afire and gives us the passion to live, for the journey to continue and the promises of the future to behold. But in truth there is no promise in th future for each day could be the last, the end is always closer tham we can imagine so as we journey we must stop as often as we can to just soak in the sun and enjoy the ride while it lasts... perhaps I see, perhaps I am blind. Purity of the soul, journey well!!! Angel aka The poem buster

Thank you for the reminder, when two people have been married for a very long time we sort of get comfortable and complacent toward one another. It is wise to recapture the love you had when you were young.

Thank you Rhymer, for reading and commenting... At some point in life, we need to be much more appreciative of our special days, and those we share them with..... Thanks, Mary

Life is wierd like that. Its like you can't both try to -find- contentment and actually BE content. Maybe its more of an acceptance than an action. (Once just a child ...Hoping to grow up fast Now an adult ... Praying for life to slow down) - Isn't this the truth. Like eyes looking behind while hands reach forwards. Enjoyed the soft wisdom in this poem. And that picture...Man that is one of the best pictures of water I've seen. Smooth.

It is strange, we from a child we begin the hurrying process, and continues on until something happens in our life. Life facing death in the eye, then it sort if slaps you in the face, and reality sets in. Then from that day forward, you learn to sow down just a bit, and smell the roses, and then true living begins, with a new appreciation of life.. Thank you for for reading and leaving me a comment. Mary...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
