Sanctuary

Sanctuary

There is a place I travel to
at night within my dreams.
There's a portal you can use
which appears to open at the seams.
Then you come across a meadow
with deer and birds to spare,
Where I dance among the animals
with flowers in my hair.
Alas I cannot stay for long
it's not my place to be
But I know that it's my lifelong,
peaceful, sanctuary.

I love this poem. I think everyone has that place where they can go whether it be physically, spiritually, or mentally. Good jerb!!

Good use of imagery....I'm not usually one for fields and flowers but the short and to the point style of this poem was enough to let my eyes limp through....good job!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
