    Scratches

    Scratches across the ivory

    Slashes down the veins of

    Pale textures

    Placid streams of red

    Ebb down to pool

    At the tips end.

    Insanity floats to the top

    And bob’s in and out

    Of view

    Salty drops trace their

    Paths down their

    Given course

    Flashes of sadness creap

    Into her hazel orbs

    As she sees what

    Cannot be undone

    Helpless against the attacks

    Worthless even to herself

    Leave me be or else

    I will hurt you

    Like I hurt me.

    Cher, A powerful and metaphorical plea. The poem has great intensity and the short lines give it succinct meaning . The sadness sweeps me away. ginga

    If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
