Screaming for MLK

MLK!

Your life is my dream,

And your dream is my life...Incomplete

Every time a door closes I hit the floor;

I feel the ice beating me from the hose

To MLK I scream! Your dream has failed me,

And I have failed the poor mother who raised me.

Hardship was                  of the life

                        the title

                                       she lived.

Happiness

was mine

                           to give.

MLK!

Your life is my dream,

And your dream is my life...Incomplete?

I have been denied with anger once again

they've replied. Pain forced thoughts,

which forced voice to play its role

and scream grief. I am helpless

in aiding my mother the poor Queen

who raised me in the absence of my father,

the king. She lives a needle bed of a life

in a world where sleep comes quick and easy.

MLK!

Your life is my dream,

Your dream is my life...

                                             Incomplete…

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
