    SECRET THOUGHTS

I have listened to the music
      And have written the lines
    I have lived life searching
       for my realm
    Shadowed by the white light
       From the depths of suicide
    I came back, although
My wish was not to return
    From that journey of self
    destruction
    I discovered that cavernous depth
        of my subsistence
    A humane puzzle of complexity
That almost took my lifetime to solve
I was a child with no rights
       For wanting to let go
I labored to understand the concept
       Of happiness
A conviction I could not force
        Myself to feel
Until I tried that ceremony of
        Euthanasia
That journey to the Valley of Shadows
        Yet my retreat was denied
After a third time at self destruction
There came a rebirth of thought
A sudden impact of peace and
        Understanding
I use to question the reason Why
Now I embrace this new vitality
    And have accepted this life
        And there lies this peace
    That feathers my Heart.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
