    Shadow of Love

     I keep expecting to find love around each corner,

    And every shadow makes me fall.

    But this love can’t lift me up,

    So on to the next one I crawl.

    Chasing a dream that time won’t reveal,

    My calloused heart still hopes in vain

    To find the love I know I deserve,

    Yet it all remains unchanged.

    Behind each pair of lying eyes, I keep seeking to find

    A heart that merits a love to die for, and beats in time with mine.

    Anticipation numbs me, I vow to not give up.

    Reality then stuns me… desperation isn’t love.

    Fight the good fight, that you know yourself, better able to give love when it suddenly steps out of the shadows to hold you. Good solid write, enjoyed it, be well
