    She Had It Coming

    He turned and left her

    Crumpled on the floor.

    He shed a tear for her,

    As he passed through the door.

     

    He didn't know, he couldn't say,

    Whether or not she was dead.

    As he left, the memories

    Of her crowded in his head.

     

    He hadn't seen this coming,

    He didn't mean to do it!

    She'd been so crazed, he couldn't cope,

    It had to be done, he knew it.

     

    Now his thoughts

    Crowd his mind.

    Was it right

    That he just left her behind?

     

    His tears run down

    His heavy cheek.

    He needed redemption,

    But where could he seek?

     

    If she was dead,

    His life was done.

    Why did he do it?

    He destroyed his sun.

     

    As he left,

    He heard a sigh.

    He turned to see

    Her move and cry.

     

    Thank God! She lives!

    But inside he cried.

    He ran to her,

    But she pushed him aside.

     

    He tried to explain,

    But she left him that day.

    He'd fooled himself,

    And now he knew he must pay.
