    She Wants

She wants to be a great,
    like Alexander or Catherine.
She rids herself of all hate,
    bringing forth the person within.
    So solid, so strong,
    it is perceived.
    Secretly suffered far too long,
    not one had ever believed.
    She wants a heart
    too far to grasp.
    Two lovers spread apart,
    a locket with broken clasp.
    She wants a home
    with a caring family inside.
She wants not to be alone,
an aspect she wishes to hide.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
