    She's My Sun

The sun’s golden rays peer through the trees,

And of my obligations, I’m again aware,

She signifies life in glory splendor,

That awesome beauty that leaves us in wonder,

She is ever humankind’s dawn of hope,

Reaffirming our commitment to do more than cope,

Evil flees from the light of the sun in the early morning dawn,

Where is the sun when you are here?

    She never shines anywhere,

Yet, there is light when you are with me,

In my darkest hour, your light I see,

Where is the sun when you are with me?

You’ve forsaken the heavens to love me.
