    ship of life

    your tossed to and fro,
ship is lost, out of control.

the wind whips over your bow,
waves crash, and toss you about.

the sky is black, sails are torn.
mast is broken, crew is worn.

the deck is empy, no one around.
no one to stear, rain doth abound.

the sky is dark waves are high.
to afraid to move or even sigh.

you pray the sun peeks through the clouds.
wonderin when day will soon unveil the shroud.

you want to believe this day will end.
take the control try to amend.

you take the wheel in your hands.
try your best do all to stand.

you see the sun breaking through the beast.
finally at last your souls at peace.

rest and love are all in your hands
lie still and enjoy relax in the sand.

where this ship goes is in your heart.
just remeber to do your part.

mend the sails. open the hatch.
open your sails don't look back.

the day will come when you face a test.
raise your sails do your best.

    you will overcome.
with the wind in your sails and the
    setting of sun.

Very well written... I grew up on the water, and you took me back to those days... Thank you.......

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
