Should Know Me Better

Should Know Me Better

I’d rather walk away completely

Rather than ruin it all

Sometimes the best conversations aren’t with words

Sometimes you say it better

When you don’t say anything at all

For us

Our words are through the steps

Each conversation a Dance

So let’s move together

To a slow song

Just fast enough for you to remember

We use to get lost

In each other’s eyes

In this very spot

In this very way

You’d hold me closer

I’d hold to tighter

Close enough to feel our Hearts beating together

There used to be a magical feeling with every movement

Now you just go through the motions

It hurts to share a Dance

With someone so distant

So with in another agenda

Not really here at all

So when you see that look in my eyes

Or that expression on my face

You should know

I’m reading your steps

And it’s breaking my Heart

You’re barely holding on

And I’m slowly watching you drift off, further and further away

I barley have the strength to finish this Dance

The Dance where you walk off and away

It’s the saddest one we’ve ever shared

You were an amazing Partner

Even with a slow song

You still disappeared

Too fast for my Heart

I miss the way we use to move

That magical movement

Between two Dancers

As they became one within the movement

Thinking back on the way it used to be

This is crazy insane

And I’m all tore up inside

This isn’t the way our Dance was suppose to end

Not for us

We were better than that

 It should have ended

With a mutual

Parting

Nothing as one sided

As what happened

Another tear-jerker. I feel so privileged to read this. This verse really hit home. It's what I'm going through right now. Beautiful job. "It hurts to share a Dance With someone so distant So with in another agenda"...

Thank you, I hope for you the pain isnt too much for your situation, as for mine I'm still writing about it every day and posting some of those writings every few days. I really do care for the one I lost but as you'll read soon in my new stuff, i have a new thought or challenge to face in her story.

Beautifully written. The pain is so obvisous but so is the strength and courage.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
