    Sign Of The Times

Looking for reason in a world of hate
There's no wisdom in this state.
    Senseless dying everyday
    Even children as they play.

    Innocence destroyed without a care
    Motionless bodies are everywhere.
    Blood dries and turns dark
Trees silhouette it in the park.

Children swing while death is near
Poor little ones live in fear.
Insanity is what it seems to me
It's part of us, don't you see.

    Dwells deep, inside our hearts,
    Where callousness, will soon start.
Grows until, we care no more
Loss of sanity, is soon in store.
As adults, they commit the crimes,
Till all we can say: IT'S THE SIGN OF THE TIMES?

It used to be Northern Ireland, South Ameriican countries, South Africa, but now it is our citiies' streets, children shot while sleeping in their beds. Your poem touches a nerve. Good rythym, nice style.

It does remind me of my own style. I'm wondering how much that has to do with our being the same generation. Great message. Sad, but true.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
