Silence

Silence

The conversation had ended,

but for some reason she felt

or maybe knew that it was the beginning.

The beginning of emotions and feelings

that would consume her inner thoughts,

her inner being;

something that would take her from thinking “me” to “we”.

Her situation was now their situation

and, man, was it a complication.

She couldn’t understand it.

How’d she go from a crush to full blown affection?

She would eventually have to get away from that question.

There was comfort in the silence and she didn’t want to break it.

She took out a pencil and a pad,

made a few expressions almost as if she was mad,

jotted something down

and shortly after crossed it out.

Her lips begin to move but nothing came out.

She begin to write again,

after she was done, she held it up again

it read: I have the words to describe how I feel, but my mouth won’t speak them.

We fight with ourselves consitently. It truly wears me out. True write and well ended.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
