    I used the raw burn of sudden grief to ignite this creation's hopeful warming glow.

    Sing Me A Song

    Sing me a song when the world weighs down,

    When the world weighs down

    Hard on my mind all unfeeling;

    Sing me a song when the shadows frown,

    When the shadows frown

    Smiles upside down on my ceiling.

     

    Sing me a song while I grieve what’s lost,

    While I grieve what’s lost,

    Heart somehow mends from its sorrow.

    Sing me a song when a garden’s frost,

    When a garden’s frost

    Blankets the blooms of tomorrow.

     

    Sing me a song when the sunlight fades,

    When the sunlight fades

    With no stars to twinkle light’s sweetness.

    Sing me a song in those everglades,

    In those everglades

    Where harmony yet whispers completeness.

     

    Sing me a song when my road finds its end,

    When my road finds its end

    And I exhale in quiet, alone.

    Sing then a song to carry my friend,

    To carry my friend

    Upon that dark trodden trail home.

    Absolutely beautiful....my favorite of yours so far. Incredibly poignant, with the rhythm of a ballad and wonderfully haunting metaphors. I especially like "When a garden's frost blankets the blooms of tomorrow," because it reminds us even in the midst of our pain, that our grief will ease and a new life will blossom.

    Misery loves company, but i think healing is best done in the service of others love, your sorrow is palpable yet refreshing, like a nice shelter from the cutting wind, I like this Wah'do

    My love for my dog/child "Bella," makes me appreciate this so very much. I lost my first love, Buddy, to sudden death - he is gone but never forgotten. How blessed we are that our paths cross with these wonderful creatures - for whatever time is allowed with them. My kindest thoughts go out to you, my friend.
