    Sing To Me

    Sing me your sad songs,
Tell me tales of times long gone,
We shall talk of books and dust,
Of rain soaked days and tears.

Sing of the nights you ached
    To touch anothers soul,
I will ramble and reach for ideas,
And we can laugh and cry.

    Sing me those sad truths,
And of days we almost held something,
Of all the false hopes and blind alleys,
Of small moments that made us smile.

Sing to me, we all have a song,
    We all have sad sentences
That remain unsaid on the tongue,
Almost music we never dare to sing.

    Thank you so much x

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
