    • Well everyone, three weeks and Im gonna be the father of a baby boy. Words cant describe how excited I am. Also a little scared. Ive posted a song that Im workin on let me know how you like it.

    It seems like everyones ashamed to mention God these days. I was sitting thinkin about what I will say to God one day, and this is what i came up with.

    Sins of a Soldier

                                     The Sins of a Soldier



                           My Lord in Heaven, look down on me
                          and notice a sinner, for thats what I'll be
                          It's what I've been, my whole life through
                              I can be forgiven, only through you
                              The sins of a soldier, can never end
                               My job is to fight, to kill, to defend
                           It may be wrong, I cant help but feel pride
                            for the nation I love, so many have died
                              and now its my turn, to carry the cross
                                 Allthough my life, may be the cost
                                    I sleep with an M-16 by my bed
                               and a loaded magazine under my head
                                    Boots on the floor, under my cot
                             I have to be ready whether I want to or not
                                   I train everyday, in case I must kill
                                I really dont want to, but know that I will
                                     The sins of a soldier can never end
                                   My job is to fight, to kill, to defend

    Your poem is expressive and honest... and I am sorry that anyone must be involved in killing... and I like that you have put GOD in your life and I appreciate your ability to protect and defend our Country and citizens, with honor... though your heart would rather seek peace.

    You have captured beautifully the spiritual struggle of the soldier. Personally, I like to believe He granted you this talent with words to ease your burden and remind you that He loves each of us above all else. Well done!

    I love your poem! It is very powerful. I thank you for serving our country. My husband is also in the military. It takes brave men like ya'll to allow us to live in a country that gives us our freedom.
