Poem Commentary

my sister (age 10) and I (age 12) get into many disagreements in one day, but we always end up laughing about the whole thing later. This poem is inspired by how much we really care for each other despite how many fights we get into.

Sisters

Sometimes never agree
Indignantly refusing to cooperate
Settle to mimicked hatred
Tattleing relentlessly
Early on
Realize how much
Support they have the power to give

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
