    Poem Commentary

    still in the psychiatric hospital

    Sky

     I wander through the night,
    traversing the darkness.
    I feel the energy,
    the omnipotent life force.
    All of creation helps me
    and higher consciousness guides me.
    I feel the radiating warmth
    shattering the icy tomb.
    The freedom is ecstasy.
    I can now understand,
    understand the frigid cold.
    I ascend to new heights
    and peer through the kaleidoscope,
    the kaleidoscope of my life.
    I see the shimmering stars,
    the crescent moon,
    the infinite boundary.
    How much I missed,
    when a simple look up
    would reveal the truth;
    for all that is
    lies within the sky.
