Sleep Tonight

Hold me

Don’t let me down

I put my trust in you

Gave you my Love

Showed you my Heart

Let you in

Hold me

Don’t turn your back on me

I let you have my body

Told you my secrets

Showed you my vulnerabilities

Made you my Desire

Hold me

Like you did

How you do in my dreams

Continue that tender touch

That shows you Care

And proves your Love

Hold me

From the loneness

Don’t let sorrow devour me

Kiss me

Whisper to me

Just don’t go

Hold me

Cause no other will

I put myself into your hands

Seeking kindness

Wanting more

Your everything

Hold me

Please just

Hold Me

Excellent poem! The emotion is so raw and evident in your poems. Poetry needs your truth!

Beautiful love poem- the speaker is so bereft, the lonliness palpable. Nice job.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
