Soldier Of My Heart

Soldier Of My Heart

On this special night

Here in your arms

I feel like I’m flyin’

I feel like I’m a queen

Here in your arms tonight

This must be a dream

I don’t want to wake up from

But I know it cain’t go on forever

I’m dancing in your arms

Here on the dance floor

Stars in my eyes

Clouds beneath my feet

Glidin’ on thin air

Barely breathin’

Cain’t speak

Even if I could

Wouldn’t know what to say

I’m barely breathin’

In your arms

I cain’t see around me

In your arms

Everything but you is gone

Cain’t speak

Cain’t breath

Wouldn’t even if I could

Don’t want to lose this feelin’

For a single second

We came here with different people

We left here with different people

But we’re here together

You asked me to dance

I was acceptin’ only after

I was refuzin’

Cause I didn’t want no pity dance

I almost killed myself

Why did I ever write this to you

What the hell gave me the courage to

Give all the credit to you

I almost killed myself,

          My heart slavin’ over you

My dear.

Back then you were the Joker

But now you’re the soldier of my heart

Soldier of my world

And keeper of my heart

I wept so many tears –

It felt like years

Before I thought I got over you

But it’s not over until it’s over

Until you put me six feet under

It seems, this is the never ending story

Of my life

It seems, you are the never ending story

Of my life

Why cain’t this story ever have a

Happily ever after

I still remember the day you

Left without sayin’ good-bye

You left me there

Cryin’ my heart out- Inside

We never said good-bye

Your eyes glowed red

Your face twisted with pain and rage

I claimed my innocence

You wouldn’t believe me

I can understand why, now

The odds were stacked against me

We parted in anger

To never see each other again

I wanted to say I was sorry

I couldn’t- you never gave me a chance

I wrote you time and time again

But it never seemed to get there

But then it should’ve been returned

They say you came back

But you never asked about me

I think about you all the time

Do you think about me, at all?

I wanted to say I was sorry

I couldn’t think of another way-

           A better way

I’m sorry – will you ever forgive me?

Tsalagi do not have the same "goodbye": "'bye" is now "Do-na-da-go-hv-i" but means "later..." and a Formal "Goodbye" or "Farewell" is now "Di-da-yo-li-hv Dv-ga-le-ni-s-gv" but means "Until we meet again..." even one drop of Cherokee blood ties us to you for eternity, and we seldom spare our own blood shed for the benefit of another, it is our Way, agree? Wah'do to you little Tsalagi U-we-tsi-a-ge-yv, BraveMoon is Honored

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
