    Some Secrets Are Like Monsters

     The little white lie
    like an imp bouncing along
    innocent, but connivingly
    hiding the whole truth.
    Bigger fibs start to nibble
    at you like some dark goblin
    slowly devouring your insides.
    Tremendous truths kept secret
    can sometimes take you over
    like menacing ogres sent by
    the hordes to take you down.
    With secrets revealed
    one can feel total obliteration
    or, perhaps relief as
    the squad of monsters
    either destroys you
    or leaves you at peace.
