SOMEDAY

When we first met it was all so new;

We spent hours on the phone;

 Sharing stories and sometimes even silence,

So how was I to know?

But as the months went by;

 We spoke less and less each day,

It was like the more I wanted to be with you,

The more you seemed to pull away.

I didn't see it coming;

The drama that would unfold,

And how my heart would get broken,

From all the things I would be told.

She shared with me all her stories;

 Of all your days together,

And I shared with her my own tales,

 Of how you'd made my life so much better.

This stranger and I we poured our hearts out;

 Trying to understand where we went wrong,

In trusting you, and loving you

While you; just strung us both along.

The one thing she had though;

 That I had dreamt of for so long,

Was that you were actually there with her,

And you shared a child, a life long bond.

So now the trust is broken;

And I'm not sure what to believe,

I let you in and shared my love,

I wore my heart on my sleeve.

I gave to you my love, my life;

And all I am was yours to share,

But you tore my heart out,

 And took advantage of my love,

And I'm left with nothing but despair.

Even though my love for you is eternal;

 I must figure out a way to let you go,

For how much I truly love you,

I guess you will never know.

Very nice write the time and energy spent in relationships is so overwhelming nice flow to get it out on paper in a very unique way. I really like the content displayed and the emotion expressed in this poem. the last stanza was really good you showed that in time you will let go of a love so true.

Thank U very much for the positive feedback.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
