Something about you

Poem Commentary

Growing up with a soul mate.

Something about you

Upon the tree that carried me
We hug from it's branches
We played until dawn
We captured it all
Counting all the stars

The world a pond us grew
With the touch
Of your hand in mine
You were a friend of mine

Though young I knew
There was something about you
I just could not explain
The feelings that grew within
With age youth tormented my mine
There was something about you

I could not understand just what it was
Through our teens we grew
The proms the games the dates we had
All just fell in place

Then one day we both grew up
You looked at me a different way
I turned away only to look back
Then focused on your eyes

You did not look the same
A missing link now had an understanding
Of what was hidden in my heart
Now the look I Receive
It takes me to your soul

Together forever is where I want to be
Held within your arms
It was with me you were meant to be

Children learned repect from parents not to call each other names. There was no room for anything but play then, ( we grew up.) LOL

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
