Song for Latese

Poem Commentary

This is a song written for my friend, Latese Wood London, when she was a little girl.  She's a "fellow redhead," actually she's a gorgeous strawberry blond!  It meant a lot to me, because it meant a lot to her!

Song for Latese

When God made blonds and brunettes
The task was easy you see
He just used black and white for them
But he chose something different for me
He took the red and he took the gold
Autumn leaves and grass in the spring
He mixed them together to color my hair
And he gave me eyes of green
So people call me different
And I guess it's plain to see
But what we have in common is
That God made red.
God made blue
God made brown
Made yellow, too
Yes what we have in common my friend
Is that God made me and you
