    Poem Commentary

I can't believe this string of luck!! Last thursday I had an appendicitis dilemma-slowly healing-Tom and I take turns taking care of each other...this too will pass-as well as a lot of gas-lol-better to laugh than cry-shit or die-lol

    Sore Belly Blues

Struck me from out of the blue
    PAIN like I never knew
    violently vomiting too

    Rushed to emergency care
blood work and CT scan there
    seemed like a nightmare

    They decided to operate
    anesthesia was really great
    that's all I can relate...

    Awoken from my dream
    a dazy hazy scheme
    morphine in a stream...

    Discomfortable hospital bed
    tubes through which I bled
feel pain; push a button instead

    After only one day
    Discharged; on my way
    I'll heal fast I pray

    Laparoscopic appendectomy
has gotten the best of me
I have a pillow on my belly and my back is twisted
oxy codine tripping to ease the pain
    when will I ever feel
    normal again?
    strong again?
    feeling no pain?

It takes tremendous poetic talent to turn a horrific event like an appendectomy into a poem which almost has a lighthearted feel... bravo to you :) 10 from me

It never fails, does it? I love the passion in which you managed to write these lines. I am truly sorry, for the most recent events...but indeed, this too shall pass ;) A well-written poem. God bless~
