Sort of: A Near Death Experience

Sort of: A Near Death Experience

As I drive I see eyes
I see blotches of color follow me home
The corners of my eyes may deceive me
but I swear I see the devil coming closer to my car
I've seen him in dreams and it seems that he's back
whether for sex or a vicious attack
It's not just tail light retained in my vision
there's something out there
and I wish I was kidding
the weather is cold and my car's moving slow
I'm locking my doors
and
I'm praying to God
and
I'm covered in ice
from tears, unannounced
how intensely I feel from this unknown presence
There's something outside from some hell or some heaven
I can't shake the feeling as it builds inside me
It's showing its teeth, in my mind I can see
I want to scream. I want to shout
I just want to get the fuck out
This thing knows that I know it's there
Can already feel claws tearing my hair
Can anyone else feel it too?
Thinking it's some animal lost from the zoo
I'd yell out my window but I don't want to shout
or let the warmth of my car heater out
The traffic starts moving and I feel relieved
But I manage to keep on going, full speed
I've seen it before and I'll see it again
I just hope at that moment, my life doesn't end
I think what I saw was some demon of life
a beast of the night
my imagination, an indication
that something's not right

Bad Poem....(bad as in Good)....lol Well yea I like how you broke the whole formal approach to poems ...don't see that much...

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
