Speed Bumps-Flat Tires

life doesn't stop for grief.
it doesn't stop for death.
speed bump death trips you leaving
you scrambling to catch up.
no matter, you are left gasping;
wondering how you got on this ride;
screaming you need to get off!
not another climb and drop!
the incline defies gravity;
your stomach visits your toes;
several times!
no geometry can postulate the theorem.

*&^%!
didn't Emily Dickinson verse,
"because I could not stop for death
he kindly stopped for me" ?
lovely woman.
writing all those poems into some drawer;
becoming KNOWN for knowing
before knowing became the thing.

bills still come due.
you gotta eat.
healthy hopefully. Not!
the crying!  But!
for the things you did and heard and saw and said;
when your mate walked this earth with you.
how dare life dare go on!
how rude! inconsiderate! totally insensitive!

can't they hear you screaming?
can't they see you curling in so tight a ball;
you are spitting into the face of physics?

so, the dog needs walking;
let his bladder burst!
so, the dishes pile up;
build a friggin ceramic pyramid!
so, you gotta work to make money
to spend money to pay bills
to keep the lights on!
Use them re-gifted candles given
for every holiday you used to celebrate!

heart sick; soul sore;
you just don't care about caring anymore.
tolerance of the life's petty tyrannies?
C'mon! be a blistering blathering nuisance.
I'll spin your dense head round on
its swiveling stem; counter clockwise.
upend your brain if you give me
any nonsensical nonsense.
That's all I'll need;
you'll get all you deserve

the pilot light needs re-lighting
'cause, of course, we have global warming;
'til the coldest night so far!
Now, no heat!
What do you turn when turning it on is;
the last thing he told you;
the first thing you forgot;
'cause, of course, death intervened;
diverting life and such again.

life won't stop for grief.
grief won't set you free.
what's worst, it stays, of its own accord;
unwelcome, unfriendly, uninvited company!
Ironically, remaining your constant companion
secret and empathetic;
allowing you to defy reason
encouraging your loving memories
with all the tears that flow;
the aches that grow
by their own calendar
with their own agenda.
you cling to cold comfort,
in the very pain that rips you open;
bleeding again and again;
feeling again and again.

#$%^ the tires!
they need rotating; realigning?
you've had all the changing you can lug.
you're already riding the rim!

#$%^ 'em all!
really! you've had no choice!
you're dancing to musical rhythms that trill
to no particular scale.
you didn't ask to play.
You had to;
'cause you love them.
you didn't grasp this part of it.
you're scrabbling to keep time;
on time;
with time;
for the rest of the time;
if you have any time
or can make time for!

aaahhhh besides you;
who cares!

Ok you said and the anger is spewed. This has so much merit. You can write. I would love to see this tightened up. I only comment if I like something. Sally
