    St. Pete

As I sit here on the beach
And watch the storms out at sea
It is oh so calm and peaceful
And as still as it can be
The lightning darts across the sky
As I sit with drink in my hand
It's just so beautiful and serene
As the waves etch their way along the sand
The water rushes back over my feet
As the tide pushes its way back out
I can see the rain falling off in the distance
This storm is strong no doubt
It's slowly moving along growing stronger
The winds wrap around me like a glove
And caresses my body with each exhale
This can only be compared to heaven above

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
