Starting to Cave

Starting to Cave

I’m doing the best I  can, you know
But the stresses in me are starting to show.
I’ve held my tongue for as long as I could,
Now I feel the time to speak up as I should.
See me as others do, just passing by
Remember there’s more to me than what meets the eye.
Show me some interest, and inherent respect,
I have all this confidence, this jest and yet…
I still only longing to be.
