    Stolen Dream

We had a dream, a dream of the centuries
To revive our independence which was lost
Two hundred and fifty eight years ago
We struggled, we fought, we shade blood
And tears of our own and theirs
    Time passes by climate changes
Nothing we could achieve for so long
    Leaders come leaders go
New born becomes adult, but we never bow
In front of the foreign foe
After the 2nd big war we got a win
But this is what we never think
It was kind of imposing gift
From the upper class to poor treat
    In the name of religion
They tried to blend water and oil
Forcing the way till the end
To the final rise of the tigers
In the village, town and woods as well
The black clouds which was gathering
Two hundred fourteen Spring that was without breeze
    Now turns into thunder storm
    A tornado a vicious cyclone
Throwing away the enemies uprooting trees
Waving the flag of dreams which was
Taken away with the help of some traitors
Finally can hear the sound of waving flag
The tigers the deer the birds and the beast
All are singing dancing in the same street
No more enemy no more foes
The land is free from all the harmful claws
But what we hear and what we see
Here and there along the river
In the paddy field or at the beach
At mangrove forest or at hill track ranch
We look back but the eyes are wet
The view is not clear just a foggy trail
What we have got just what we have
    Now the question rise only
Is it was our dream? or the dream also
    Have been stolen?

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
