    Struggle for the Family

I am the bred winner of the family
Can't even buy bread for the family
I feel like a faliure, life is so hard.
Don't know if I will survive but I have to hold on for the family.

    I pray, I fast, I cry, I wonder why.
Why can't I take care of the family?
I work so hard, I think so hard of ways to provide for the family

My days get longer, my nights seems shorter
I put my life on hold for the family
I will never be happy untill they are happy
I ask my God for perseverence to keep me going for the family

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
