Summer Love

Poem Commentary

Sorry it's been so long, I've been busy with the start of school. Hope this makes up for it!!!

Summer Love

I fell for him in summer
my mystery in love
The boy who stole my heart
our love as fleeting as a dove.

He hid himself away
truth veiled behind his eyes
While telling empty promises
and broken shattered lies.

He led me out of reason
and into his embrace
Of cold and lifeless arms
with our fingers interlaced.

And then he left
without telling me goode-bye
And the truth came crashing down
like the heat of mid-July.

Of course it does no good
to dwell on broken dreams
So we move along in life
all the while,
Ripping at the seams.

This is a relevant love to have had and lost, either by choice or unwillingly, its matters not. You write in a clearity that reveals soft intention and painful regret: you drew me in by sharing this Summer Love! thanks for being a heartfully skilled writer! Applause builllding!

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
