    Summer Winds

The winds of summer gently blow.

    Summer winds,
    Blow across the land,
    Gently swirling,
    Piles of sand,
    Songbirds sing,
    Upon the wind,
    To the soul,
    Their music brings,
    Peace and love,
    From above,
    Delivered on wings of dove,
    Spirit rises,
    It touches sky,
    From deep within,
    The angel cries,
    Old one sits,
    By water’s edge,
    Dreaming of things,
    That was left unsaid,
    Thunder rumbles,
    Lightning flashes,
    Many memories past,

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
