    Poetry Survivor Entry- Week One - March 2010

    Sunshine In The Rain

    I wish I could say ~ I love you, Babe,
    But, I can't seem to find the words.
    I'm so afraid of losing you,
    Yet, I'm so scared of being hurt.
    I don't know what I'm going to do,
    But Babe, I can promise you this.
    You mend a little bit of my broken heart,
    Every time we kiss!

    Oh! My heart's been filled with sadness,
    And my life's been filled with pain.
    But, ever since I've met you Babe,
     You've been my Sunshine in the Rain!
    Oh! You're my Sunshine in the Rain!!

    My love's been through a violent storm,
    But Babe, You've broken through the clouds.
    I know I'll learn to love again,
    But, right now I'm still learning how.
    I know that one day soon my pain will fade,
    and then Baby when it does.
    I hope you'll still be here by my side,
    When it's time for me to love!

    Oh! My heart's been filled with sadness,
    And my life's been filled with pain.

    This is surely a hit song and Oh I remember when hear the tune along with these words on the radio, someday.

    Thanks Bjlo! :) I appreciate it very much .. This song just might have a chance at being recorded .. I have friends who are in a country and Western band who also are in a contest and are heading to nashville in march .. Hopefully, this song will one day be heard by many! :) Thanks again! :) Ken

    What a beautiful peom, love is such a strange, and wonderful emotion, at times it can make one move mountains, at times one feels like falling off a cliff, go figure. But the thing to remember is you can love again. Great write.

    Thanks so much Sevyn7! :) I wrote this song a very long time ago .. but it is still relevant today. Love is definitely one helluva emotion .. but it is something we all desire. Thanks again for the read and comments pal, much appreciated! :) Ken

    This is a wonderful song sounds like the black smith was building your armor even then . I wish you had never been hurt but it is life and cold hearted people . I wish for you love forever more Marie

    Thanks Marie - Yes, the suit was being fitted for sure. I had just got divorced and the woman I wrote this about wanted a lot more than I could give at the time. Being hurt is a part of life that I chalk up to a learning experience. I've come far since this write and now that I've got my queen. I have no problem saying those 3 magic words! :) Thanks again my friend! Ken

    Thank you so much Blue!! :) I wrote this for the first woman I dated after my divorce - a long time ago. She wanted do much more than I was able to give at the time. Too much -Too soon. Thanks again! :) Ken

    Thanks Mindy! :) This song was posted on my page for a long time I removed it when I entered it in the Poetry Survivor contest - This was my week one entry. I didn't have a guitar - nor do I play one, unfortunately - I just get a tune in my head and the words just flow... Thanks Again! :) Ken
