    Sweet Decay

    Oh sweet decay
I beg you to take me away
From warm arms that don’t exist
Wrap me up in an acid mist
Hurry, I see the ending shore
With too many deaths to list
All around are scenes of gore
As I run from feelings of wanting more
    Oh God, I’m going insane
    Save me from this rain
His hands slowly turn to claws
    Crushing my soul with pain
My body, with all its flaws
Calls for you through its maws
Flowers bloom and pull me down
You watch it all with a frown
I beg you not to let me go
    But still downstream I flow

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
