. . . Sh

Its been so quiet,

So very quiet,

.

I wander this earth alone,

Trying to find a place,

I once did call my home.

.

Among the cross roads,

Across the hills,

Crossing streams and rivers,

Through the twisted and scary forests of history lost.

.

I have met many . . .

Princes, shopkeepers, queens and peasants,

Acquaintances, alliances, come and go.

.

. . .and I remember,

When I first met you,

Twas a sunny day,

And the bonds of friendship,

Started to grow . . .

.

Like a mighty young tree,

Upon soils deep,

Never to fall, but strength to keep.

.

Then I blink and a rich memory fadeth away.

Like a candle snuffed out by the breath of wind.

.

Where art thou my friend,

Has life held thee in goodly place?

Trying to hold thy head of high,

Holding upon thy dreams,

Upon the fading summer sky.

.

My eyes fadeth, I grow weary in my days,

One last parting wish, before I become dismayed.

.

. . .My long lost friend,

I pass this torch to you.

The light of eternal friendship.

Will never be dark of blue.

.

Don’t give up in the battles of life,

Hold strong to they faith to the end.

If ye find the torch of hope,

Ye may call me . . . . . . .

.

. . . . . . . . friend

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
