take wing, my heart

take wing, my heart

take wing my heart
find a safer home
i am lost and broken
forever cursed to be alone

be still my racing mind
be calm help me think
the lust i have for this one
is the poison that i drink

take heed my desperate ears
we shall no longer long for her
take a sip my mouth
so we can dissapear

take heart my shaky hands
we shall soon be dead
take the knife my dear
the fear is in your head

to the ground my knees
i do not wish to fall
now we drink her love
go ahead, drink it all

for if it shall be my last
i might as well indulge
some call it insanity
well it is

return to me, my love
no longer honor bound
once i stab my beating heart
there will be no sound

take wing my heart
find another bed
drinking drinking drinking
slowly slowly, dead

Great poem! May I suggest a revisision in this way: For if it shall be my last I must enjoy the drink some call it insanity well I teeter on its brink. Just a suggestion and a novice one at that. Keep writing the world is better with your artistry in it!!

Excellent keep up the wonderful work and enjoy it the whole time!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
