Taking Flight
Taking Flight
Words are my wings
to fly
anywhere, anytime
writing my way
off the page
into the wind
taking me wherever
my imagination
will take me
free to fly
with the breeze
behind me
as my hand glides
across the white sheet
up into the blue sky
past cumulus clouds
over yonder
snow-peaked mountains
to land on the runway
of an ending
of another poem
leaving me feeling
as if I were soaring
off into another world.
