This is a bit of personal philosophy.

Talk To The Experts

The President is a powerful man.
He has great strength at his command.
He is our leader, the top of his field.
Through him much insight can be revealed.
Always hear what he has to say,
you can learn so much that way.

Thomas is a garbage man.
A lowly position, but in demand.
He’s the best with people‘s trash.
Their refuse, their garbage, the whole mishmash.
And always hear what he has to say,
you can learn so much that way.

Mary’s home is where she works.
A housewife’s “job” with its many quirks.
She works with her children all the day long.
She’s the expert at fixing whatever goes wrong.
And always hear what she has to say,
you can learn so much that way.

There are the experts in every field.
They are all able and very skilled.
They can teach you so much whatever the chore.
They can help with the future, they know what’s in store.
Meet with them, talk to them, shaking their hand.
It’s the best way for learning all that you can.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
