Tall Dark And Beautiful

Tall Dark And Beautiful

Tall dark and beautiful, she takes up your time.

You'll pull her real close, you'll hold her real tight.

You'll close your eyes; as your lips touch her tonight.

She'll captivate you with her hour glass curves.

She'll make you all tipsy, you'll act like a fool.

She'll entice you for more and you'll fall off the stool.

You'll stagger around all drunk with her juices.

You'll wreak of the smell of her, it makes me nauseous.

You'll linger to bed with her on your clothes and her on your mind.

I'll be awake thinking of better times.

You'll pull me close, I'll push you away

Its her that you want its better this way.

For hours upon hours you'll sit contently together.

I won't exist till you've absorbed every last drop of her.

You call her your friend, you say that she's true

She takes all your pain and helps you get through.

Well, what about me and all the years that I've given?

I've taken you're crap and then quickly forgiven.

All these years of marriage that you've thrown away.

You say you deserve her at the end of the day.

So take hold of her now, she's all that you have.

Tall dark and beautiful;  the one that you love; that  liquor bottle.

WOWOW! I totally thought that this was about a husband who was cheating as your whole story led up to this one punctuated line that threw me flat on my ass with surprise! Very well done! Love it!

Thank you Eyes, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Care to read, "Made For Each Other"?

Wow. I didn't realize what this poem was about until that important final line. A very well-written, descriptive poem. Good flow to it. Powerful message. Bravo!

Thank you schizopoet for the great review.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
