    Tears of Sand

    Looking out into the sea
    She stands
    WOndering when her heart
left her chest to be swallowed
    By the sea.
    When did it happen?
    When did she realize
That her heart was no longer
    Hers but to a stranger
    A stranger whose face she
    Had never seen
Whose voice she had never heard
Whose touch she had never felt
    How can this be- that
    Her heart has been
    Torn out of her body
And swept away by the tide
    A single tear on her
Cheak gets wiped away by the wind
    Falling to the ground
    like grains of sand
    Sifting through the fingers
    of a clenched fist.
Perhaps when the tide comes in-
    She'll get her heart back?

If your heart is in the sacred waters it is in the right place, cry not, water will cleanse it for him
