    Poem Commentary

This is a poem I wrote shortly after I learned my now Ex-Fiance was having an affair with somebody I thought was my best friend. You can almost relive the pain I was feeling from these dark words.

    Ten Black Roses

Ten black roses fall from the sky
    none ever making a sound
Ten black roses say I'm about to die
as they silently hit the ground

I reach for the gods as my world falls apart
none of them knowing what to say
one by one, they rip out my heart
and end it with "have a fucking good day."

Ten black roses fall to my feet
as I call out to Hakate
Ten black roses burn from the heat
as my heart is filled up with hate

Ten black roses fall from the sky
as I wonder what I did wrong
Slowly but surely she shall die
when she hears what's called Deaths' song

My guess is once those roses hit the ground, time becomes a rare commodity, so whatever hell is due to be raised had better be raised quick, Great nihilistic piece, Ven. Symbolic threats top specific ones every time because they make the reader's imagination fill in the blanks with what it fears most. High marks!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
