    Thank you Dad

When I was hurting and didn’t think I could make it another day
You picked me up and carried me the rest of the way
When my heart was broken and my world shattered
You told me I was special and I’m the only one who mattered
You stuck by me even when u knew I was wrong
You always made me feel that I belonged
You made up for what was taken from me
You always told me I could be anything I wanted to be
You never lost faith, you always believed
You’re my biggest fan it seems
I could never thank you enough
You always made it better when life got rough
Right now I’m not with you, I’m on my own
But I know I can always reach you on the phone
You never fail to lift me up when I’m down
Even though right now you’re not around
But I just want to tell you thank you, for giving my the world
I love you daddy, love your babygirl

I wrote a poem about my daughter sometimes I don't know what I do with the blessing. I feel the same way about my daughter she is truly my inspiration.

As a father, it is terribly moving and stirring to read such outspoken words of appreciation to your father. The father/daughter relationship is very special and it must touch your dad immensely to have such a wonderful connection with you. You poem reminds me of a song I heard entitled "Daddy Don't Let Go" written by a group called "Out of Ether" which you can hear at the website link below. Its equally inspirational and emotionally moving. All my best, Jay

Thank you, I love that my words can touch other people.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
