That Road

It winds like the breeze on an upset Summers day
Calling to our wants to feed us disarray
It’s callous, ironic and never sheds a tear
Love and Hate are twins, so it would appear
It ignites a raging flame, burning till its time is done
Some live it by the proverbs, some live it by the gun
It’s the question, the answer, the sweet beginning and dismal end
This life is but a current, our ever-changing friend

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
