    • I've been gone for quit some time but I'm back and ready to write more poetry.

    Thats All You Are

     People are always telling me
    You are who you are
    and thats all you are.

    But I want more then what I am
    I can be brilent and smart
    witty and fun
    give me a fishing pole
    and I'll be your fishin buddy.

    I know people and they know me.......
    Or do they really know me?
    I hide behind what others want
    me to be.

    These masks of mine need to be taken off
    but I'm afraid of what the world will say
    I'm not pretty enough
    and i'll never be good enough
    no matter what i do
    it will never b enough.

    People are always telling me
    you are who you are
    and thats all you will ever be.....
    But I want more.

    I wanna look in the mirror
    and like what I see for once,
    I just want it all.

    I like this poem, it is the heart of insecurity. About being one's self without worry of not being accepted. I know I have been there more than once:)
