    The Angel of Shavano

Snow angel, your story has been told.
Through ages of the mountain valley people of old.
How by your bitter heart were trapped upon that mountain cleft.
To watch the suffering of the land, til almost no one was left.
Your heart was broken by all the pain and sorrow you could stand,
and your ice cold form flowed down in streams,
    and nourished all the land.

Now the angel of Shavano, glistening white,
In moonlight looms over this valley tonight.
Still the angel of Shavano, glistening white,
In moonlight looms over this valley tonight.

There is a lesson in this fable, I have learned:
My heart's been hard and trapped in rocky places I have turned,
My cold and frozen life has pained the ones I love and trust.
I've watched them suffer because of selfish pride, and broken trust.
Until my eyes were opened, and I began to feel,
A life of love and giving is all that's truely real.

Now the angel of Shavano, glistening white
In moolight looms over this valley tonight
Still the angel of Shavano, glistening white
In moonlight looms over this valley tonight.

I love the marvellous descriptive imagery you've painted right along, its a 10 from me . ' a life of love and giving is all that's truely real', thank you,. I live in Sri Lanka which has so many breath taking sceneries. I too love nature , hope you'll comment on my poem ' our earth is a jewel.

This one hatched before its time, but with a bit of rewrite could clearly tell the power this massive has over you. The fact that no one has commented yet is a signal that this was a miss instead of a hit. And yet, it deserves more. So do you.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
