    The Art Of Living

Love is such a big part
In learning the art of living
    It's more than just receiving
    It also involves the giving

    The willingness to listen
Would go a long long way
If we were more attentive to what was spoken
    Than knowing what to say

I like the fact that I can worship
    In any way I choose
It's a gift we sometimes take for granted
    And often times abuse

Not every country in this world
    Has our prosperity
So take the time to thank the Lord
    For all our liberties

Always stand up for your values
    Not to many people do
We would rather be a follower
Than share our point of view

Right choices are not always easy
    You may find yourself alone
But true friends will never leave you
    When their actions you condone

    Remember to appreciate your children
And the rest of those you love
They were given to you as a gift
    From your heavenly father above

    Teach them all your wisdom
    Give them all your praise
The most important  lesson you can teach
Is to teach them how to pray

This is the art of living
    It's possible if we try
Just put our trust in God above
    And by his laws abide

To live our lives in harmony
    Is what we should pursue
The world would be a better place
    If only this we choose

Lonewolf, another beautiful poem that touched my heart. I feel the same. I wish more did.

I love the thought behind this poem and you are truly a great poet/lyricist ( I say that because it seems a lot of your work posted is a song or could be a song)

Glad I came to visit. I'm no artist and I live as best as I know God gives me the wisdom to. I have this time on Op to minister to those who are hurting, as evidenced by the words in their poetry. This poem is a goldmine of wisdom and exhortation! very glad you wrote it!

Hopefully I "got it right", and can inspire others to take action

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
