Dark was the night when Mary saw the light
As the angel appeared her face filled with fear

A baby boy he will bring from God her king
To plant in her womb to be born one day soon
Now Mary not wed a virgin she said
How can this be why has God chosen me

Now the Lord knows best for you are blessed

Now at this time of year we will sing with cheer
And we will celebrate how god is so great
