Poem Commentary

This was just a off day writing..I kind of like it though :)

The Caged Darkness

The tear drops fall as she whispers, "It's over, I'm done."
She walks away without a glimpse behind, it's the past....it's gone and over.
Can't be redone nor taken back.
Mistakes made, scars caused, hearts broken.....pieces shattered.
Nothing can be done...But to move on.
So she walks down the path she has chosen not to look back but to look forward.
But will things be brighter or is she walking into a never ending tunnel....
Finding no way out and no way to turn around.
It gets so dark she can't see where she's going.....She's lost.
On this path of life she has no guide....No light at the end of the tunnel.
No signs she can see to show her the way. The choices she's made and the mistakes she's made.......
Diminished the light that had once shined. It's no longer there, it burnt out.
If only she could find that light and rekindle it.
If only she could light that fire one more time she would guard it with everything she has in her, for she knows....
she can't go anywhere without that light....she has to have it....or she looses herself to the darkness.
The darkness surrounds her and closes in like a two by two cell....she's stuck.
She can't move and is suffocating on this thing they call a life.
What's it worth?
Is it worth dying to try to get out?

Nicely done! To answer your question...is it worth dying to try to get out? I would answer yes because without hope and faith that tomorrow will be a brighter day why do we exist.Life is to short too, so we should cgerish each and everyday. I will be adding this one to my favorites.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
